Prerequisites
The Alike Appliance (A2) is a purpose built backup and DR solution which can be run as a VM on any major hypervisor, or can be installed directly on bare metal.
- Minimum System Requirements (A2)
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB System disk
- 1GB NIC
- Backup Storage for data--Local Disk, CIFS/SMB, NFS, or GlusterFS
- *For Xen pools, shared storage is required for ABD deployment
Additional RAM can help with larger load/environments. See Backend Tuning for more information on scaling.
The A2 has been tested to as a Virtual Machine on the following platforms:
- Citrix Hypervisor (XenServer) 6.5 - 8.2 CU1
- XCP-ng
- Microsoft Hyper-V 2008R2 - 2022
- Proxmox/KVM
- VMWare/ESXi
Other platforms may work, but have not yet been tested for compatibility.

*These target types require an Alike Physical license to protect,
and will use Q-Hybrid technology
