Unable to Connect to A3


Problem: You receive the the error Unable to connect to A3 (//ip.here) on TCP 445. Please check your ABD XenNet/VLAN configuration. (err: missing seed)

Solution: Check the IP address setting for your A3 in the A3 WebUI


When running a Xen backup or full restore job in your A3, ABDs are required. The ABD will need to know the IP of your A3 host in order to connect to it.

If your A3 receives a new IP, either because of a DHCP change or a manual change to its static IP, jobs will fail with the message below:




To correct this issue, simply update the A3 IP address here under the A3 host IP input area, then your A3 docker container from the A3 VM console.




Please note that this setting does not change your A3's IP. It simply updates its internal database to whatever IP you supply it. It's necessary to update this field whenever you make a change to your A3 VM IP.


After changing this setting, you must log into the A3 console and select option 3 to stop Alike services, then select option 3 again to restart them. If you are not using the A3 VM, use docker up/down from your Docker host directly.
