Only Restore One Disk

Problem: Your restore job only lets you restore all disks that were backed up.

Solution: Use Instant Restore or Restore to VHD/X

Full Restore jobs in Alike always restore all disks to your hypervisor. In some cases, restoring all disks is undesirable because only some disks are needed and the other disks are large, causing the job to run slowly or consume too much space.

The solution is to use a job type that is faster and does not consume much, if any space. Instant Restore will rapidly restore your entire VM--typically in seconds--and then you can use XenCenter to move the disk you need to production.

Or, you can use the restoreFS to copy out or mount only the VHD/X files you want or need.
