Out of Memory

If you receive the following error in the Data Engine log

Error processing block write#012java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

or this:

Error processing block write, connection will be closed#012java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

The best intervention is to increase the amount of RAM assigned to your A2 and then reboot the A2.

By default, the Xen image of the A2 appliance ships with 1GB of RAM assigned, which is suitable for small environments. For larger environments, 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB is recommended, depending on load. There is rarely any benefit to going over 16GB of A2 RAM.
